RATCLIFFE SHOULD BE CAREFUL NOT TO ‘INTERRUPT’ UNITED’S PROGRESS
Ten Hag called on Ratcliffe and the INEOS Group to be careful to not “interrupt” United’s progress while he’s still the manager.
The 54-year-old manager cited the arrival of several young players at United which could lead to a “good direction.”
“I think you need to follow the process. We have good young players coming through,” the manager said.
“We are in a good way, a good direction and we need to make the next steps. Don’t interrupt this process,” he added.
Under Ratcliffe’s management, United has hired Omar Berranda as chief executive officer.
TEN HAG WANTS TO STAY DESPITE CONTRACT ENDING IN 2025
Ten Hag is making a case to stay on as United manager next season.
However, his current contract ends in 2025.
Ten Hag still hopes United will qualify for the Champions League.
But he admits it will be “difficult” to overtake Aston Villa and Tottenham.
“I have high standards and I would be disappointed if we didn’t qualify,” Ten Hag said.
Injury concerns surrounding Luke Shaw, Lisandro Martinez, and Victor Lindelof are not helping United’s chances this season.
“I know we have had a lot of problems so I am a realistic man,” Ten Hag added.
