You won’t see this often as a ridiculously bizarre scene took place after the Saudi Super Cup final
At the end of the Saudi Super Cup final, there were bizarre scenes, with Al-Ittihad striker Abderrazak Hamdallah being whipped by a fan in the stands.
Al-Hilal walked off with the trophy as the Saudi Pro League leaders claimed a comfortable 4-1 win on the night. The performance from Al-Ittihad, who had the likes of Karim Benzema and N’Golo Kante within their ranks, did not go well with those in the crowd.
Moroccan striker Abderrazak Hamdallah bore the brunt of that frustration as he looked to make his way off the pitch. He became involved in an altercation with an individual perched in a seat just above the tunnel, with water squirting in the crowd’s direction.
The supporter in question pulled out a whip as the confrontation got ugly, with two lashes aimed at Hamdallah. Players and officials stepped in to drag the Al-Ittihad forward away from trouble, while the fan was escorted from his seat by stewards.
