BCCI FINES PANDYA FOR MISSING 12 OVERS QUOTA

The BCCI fined Pandya after the Indians failed to finish their quota of 12 overs in the stipulated time.

The Mumbai captain failed to match the over-rate criteria for the first time in their match against the Punjab Kings (PBKS).

This prompted the BCCI to fine him INR12 lakh.

“Hardik Pandya, the Mumbai Indians captain, has been fined after his team maintained a slow over-rate during their Indian Premier League 2024 match against Punjab Kings at the PCA New International Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur on April 18,” the BCCI said in a statement.

The BCCI wanted Hardik and the other Mumbai players of consequences if there’s a repeat of the offense.

Despite the fine, the Indians claimed their third win in the IPL 2024 season by beating the Kings.

PBKS LOST PRABHSIMRAN SINGH’S WICKET IN LOSS

PBKS lost the wicket of opener Prabhsimran Singh, thus the team failed to get the start they wanted.

Singh went to the locker room without opening his account in the first over of the second inning when the score was 10.

Rossouw was dismissed after scoring just one run, as the Kings lost their second wicket at the score of 13.

Punjab then lost its fourth wicket after Liam Livingstone was dismissed after scoring just one run, courtesy of Gerland Coetzee’s bowling.

BHATIA ALSO DISMISSED AFTER SCORING 13 RUNS

PBKS impact player Harpreet Singh Bhatia was also dismissed after scoring 13 runs, with the hosts losing half of their side at the score of 49.

Bhatia combined with Shashank Singh to tally 35 runs after PBKS saw the fall of the four wickets during the match.

PBKS wicketkeeper-batter Jitesh Sharma bat along with Shashanl to collect 28 runs after the fall of the fifth wicket.

However, Jitesh was also dismissed after scoring just nine runs.

Ashutosh Sharma combined with Shashank for a partnership of 34 runs after Jitesh’s wicket.

Like Jitesh, Shashank was also dismissed after scoring 41 runs from just 25 balls with three maximums and two boundaries.
