ENGLAND WINS OVER USA IN 10-WICKET ROUT TO REACH T20 WORLD CUP SEMIS

England won over hosts the USA in a 10-wicket rout to advance to the semifinals in Bridgetown on Sunday.

Pacer Chris Jordan claimed four wickets in five balls – including a hat-trick – in the 19th over to lead England’s attack.

Jordan did the feat in place of Mark Wood in his birthplace as the USA folded for 115 in 18.5 overs after England decided to bowl.

England captain Joe Buttler blitzed to a 38-ball 83 where he smashed seven sixes and six fours.

This also includes hitting five maximums in a Harmeet Singh over.

The 35-year-old Jordan, a Christchurch, Barbados, native, dismissed Corey Anderson for 29 with a low full toss.

He would also later dismiss Nostush Kenjige and Saurabh Netravalkar off successive deliveries.

These feats enabled England to complete its first hat-trick in T20Is.

INDIA-AUSTRALIA CLASH IN PERIL DUE TO THREAT OF RAIN

Meanwhile, the upcoming India-Australia clash is in peril due to a threat of rain.

Furthermore, the weather forecast in Saint Lucia, where the match is supposed to be held on Monday, is not encouraging with a washout looming.

Moreover, reports said showers may prevail over Saint Lucia through Monday morning.

Forecasts added that the weather may only clear up possibly between 10 am and 4 pm.

India may still reach the semifinals if a washout occurs in their next match.

However, Australia cannot afford to lose, as the difference between two points and one could be major.

HARDIK PANDYA FIRST INDIAN CRICKETER TO HAVE 300-PLUS RUNS IN T20 WORLD CUP HISTORY

Moreover, Hardik Pandya became the first Indian cricketer in T20 World Cup history to tally 30-plus runs and 20-plus wickets.

Pandya made 50 in 27 balls with four boundaries and three sixes at a strike rate of 185.19 during the India-Bangladesh match on Saturday.

He has since scored 302 runs in 21 matches and 13 innings at an average of 27.45 and a strike rate of 138.89 in his T20 World Cup career.

Pandya has also compiled two half-centuries with the best score of 63 and he has also taken 21 wickets in 21 matches, resulting in the best figures of 3/27.

Interestingly, four others have accomplished the feat before Pandya.

These are Shahid Afridi (546 runs and 39 wickets in 34 games), and Bangladesh’s Shakib al Hasan (853 runs and 50 wickets in 42 matches).

Dwayne Bravo of West Indies (530 runs and 27 wickets in 24 matches) and Shane Watson of Australia (537 rubs and 22 wickets in 24 matches) also did the feat.
