Al Hilal, Neymar terminate contract
Al Hilal said on social media that the two sides have agreed to mutually part ways and wished the star forward luck in his future endeavors.
Neymar has agreed to forgo a significant portion of his salary from his deal with Al Hilal, which extends through next summer.
“The club expresses its thanks and appreciation to Neymar for what he has provided throughout his career at Al-Hilal, and wish the player success in his career,” Hilal said in an announcement on X.

The recent development has only increased the likelihood of Neymar returning to former club Santos in Brazil.
Multiple outlets reported that the 32-year-old would sign a six-month contract with the option of an additional year at Santos.
Neymar had around seven months remaining on his contract.
Injury-hit stint
Neymar joined Al Hilal from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2023 for a transfer fee of $97.6 million.
However, the Brazilian international faced a challenging stint with the Saudi Arabian club.
During his time there, he suffered a torn ACL in his left knee while on international duty with Brazil.
Although he returned to the field last October, a subsequent hamstring injury sidelined him again.

In January, Al Hilal manager Jorge Jesus confirmed that Neymar was free to explore other opportunities.
Over the course of his tenure, Neymar made just seven league and cup appearances, scoring a single goal in an AFC Champions League group stage match against Nassaji Mazandaran on October 3, 2023.
