Amorim will be in Old Trafford “for a long time”
The Portuguese boss has struggled to turn around United’s fortunes since taking over from Erik ten Hag in November.
United are currently 14th in the Premier League, with just one win in their last five matches.
The Europa League has emerged as United’s only chance to win a trophy and secure European football next season.
They host Real Sociedad in the second leg of their round-of-16 tie on Thursday, with the aggregate score at 1-1.
Despite the growing pressure on Amorim, Manchester United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe has said he wants him to remain at the helm “for a long time.”

“If I actually look at the squad which is available to Ruben, I think he is doing a really good job to be honest,” Ratcliffe said in an interview with the BBC.
“I think Ruben is an outstanding young manager. I really do. He’s an excellent manager and I think he will be there for a long time.”
Amorim “in a hurry” to win trophies
The 40-year-old Amorim also reaffirmed his cordial relationship with the British billionaire.
Though Amorim acknowledges that time is needed to deliver silverware to the club, he said he is always acting with a sense of urgency.

“They know how I am, and I’m so clear when we had the interviews and the conversation. I was so clear what kind of guy I am, that now is easy to have this kind of relationship,” he said in an interview to Sky Sports.
“And then they know that we need time, but I’m always in a hurry. I don’t know if it’s something about my age or I don’t know, but I’m always in a hurry. So I think they like that because I want to win. They want to win. And we are similar in that aspect. We are in a hurry. We want to win.”
“This is a special club. Everybody knows that if we turn things around, it’s a special feeling that we have with each other. And we believe a lot in what we are doing.”
