Carlos Alcaraz became the top prize money earner in 2024 so far after his recent Wimbledon victory over Novak Djokovic in the final.

ALCARAZ TOP PRIZE MONEY EARNER AFTER WIMBLEDON WIN

Alcaraz emerged as the top prize money earner in 2024 so far after his Wimbledon title win over Novak Djokovic in the final.

Furthermore, the Spanish world No.3 earned £2,700,000 (about USD3.492 million) for beating Djokovic in the Wimbledon final.

That boosted Alcaraz’s on-court earnings to an estimated USD8.044 million.

The 21-year-old earlier won the French Open final, making his Wimbledon success his second Grand Slam major title.

Before his Wimbledon win, Alcaraz’s prize money for 2024 was listed at some USD4.552 million.

On the other hand, the Spaniard has benefited from the 15% increase Wimbledon has implemented on the prize money package this year.

SPANIARD TOPS SINNER, ZVEREV AMONG MEN

Moreover, the Spaniard has topped world No.1 Jannik Sinner and German star Alexander Zverev among the top men’s players.

Sinner was the early leader in the list after the Italian won the season-opening Australian Open title.

However, he only reached the quarterfinals at Wimbledon after he lost to Daniil Medvedev.

His quarterfinal appearance at the All England Club earned Sinner £375,000 (about USD485,010).

Zverev was ousted in the fourth round at Wimbledon by Taylor Fritz.

That only earned Zverev £226,000 (about USD292,299).

Alcaraz’s winnings so far have put him on track to top the USD10.102 million he earned in 2022 or the USD15.1 million in prize money and bonuses in 2023.

SWIATEK DROPS TO SECOND OVERALL AFTER WIMBLEDON THIRD-ROUND EXIT

Furthermore, women’s world No.1 Iga Swiatek dropped to second overall after Alcaraz’s emergence in prize money winnings.

The Pole was ousted in the third round at Wimbledon after losing to Yulia Putintseva.

The loss only got Swiatek to settle for £143,000 (USD189,950) in prize money.

On the other hand, her total prize money after Wimbledon now goes at some USD6.826 million).

Expect Alcaraz to further raise his stock as he next plays in the Paris Olympics in both men’s singles and doubles with Rafael Nadal.

Moreover, the Spaniard is expected to return to the ATP Tour after Paris and vie for more titles in the Masters and ATP 500 categories.
