His team, Paarl Royals, confirmed the incident.
The West Indies all-arounder was returning to the team hotel when the assailants attacked him and robbed his personal belongings.
Allen’s personal belongings were taken away, including a luxury wristwatch and his phone.
Despite the alarming incident, the Royals assured that Allen was safe.
“The franchise works closely with the league to ensure the safety and well-being of its players and staff, while also allowing them to have free personal time as well,” the statement said.
