Giroud, Varane and list of top footballers who will depart at the end of this season

Olivier Giroud, Raphael Varane, Casemiro and many more footballers will end their spells after the current season 2023/24 ends.

Some big names have already announced their destinations, while others have yet to learn about their following clubs.

Let’s go through the list.

Olivier Giroud ( AC Milan)

France’s top-scoring player, Giroud, is obviously one of the most underrated strikers of all time. He has won almost everything during his decorated career, including the Champions League, Europa League, FIFA World Cup, and many more.

When he left Chelsea for Serie A giants AC Milan, people thought that he already passed his peak. However, he scored 48 goals, registered 20 assists, and played pivotal in one Serie A trophy. 37-year-old Olivier Giroud left his mark in Milan and now opts to America.

His next stop is LAFC.

Raphael Varane (Man United)

Raphael Varane will leave Man United as a free agent at the end of the current season. His decision was confirmed, and the former Real Madrid defender announced his official farewell message.

The French footballer will be available on the market as his contract won’t be extended. Varane left his peak at Real Madrid, where he won multiple major trophies as a key player.

Varane’s next stop still needs clarification, but he may join another top European team before considering different leagues.

Kylian Mbappe (PSG)

The biggest name, yet, to depart this season. Mbappe will leave PSG after nine years, winning all, but the only title he has yet to conquered, is the Champions League.

Casemiro (Man United)

Another top-class Man United player will depart, but like Varane, Casemiro left his peak at Madrid.

It’s not official yet, but everybody believes the Brazilian should leave. Since October, Saudi Pro League clubs have had Casemiro’s name on their shortlist. After the final budget for SPL clubs is clarified, proposals to the players’ camps and to Man United are expected to follow. There is a good chance that Casemiro will leave Man United this summer.

Luka Modric (Real Madrid)

After 12 years, Luka Modric is set to say goodbye to Real Madrid. Talking about the Croatian’s football quality will never be enough. Ask Jose Mourinho and millions of Los Blancos’ Blancos’ fans about how magnificent Modric has been in the past decade; they will even tell you in song form.

It’s the end of a lengthy and triumphant journey of 12 years for Modric, who will be honoured as a king. Modric’s final game for Madrid will also be the Champions League final.

Iker Muniain (Athletic Bilbao)

Iker Muniain confirms he’s set to leave Athletic Club at the end of the current season. After winning the Copa del Rey, Muniain has decided to leave Athletic. End of an era in Bilbao.

Athletic Club organized a farewell ceremony for Iker Muniain, attended by fans, players, and staff. He joined the club in 2005, made 578 appearances, and became emotional during the event.
