HUERTA STILL HOPES FUTURE PREMIER LEAGUE STINT AFTER LIVERPOOL MISS
Furthermore, Huerta still hopes for a future Premier League stint after missing out on a chance to move to Liverpool on August 30, the final day of the summer window.
Moreover, the 23-year-old Mexican winger rued the failed opportunity to take his act from Mexico to England.
Huerta admitted an “issue” prevented him from a prospective transfer from Pumas to Liverpool at the close of the summer transfer window.
“There was an issue. I had my suitcase ready,” Huerta said as reported by ESPN.
“But it (transfer to Liverpool) fell through because of an issue. I know it’s a train that only comes once,” he added.
The player, who is also known as “Chino,” was supposed to join Liverpool on a permanent transfer from Pumas.
PUMAS OFFICIAL SAYS ‘INTERNAL ISSUES’ PREVENTED SUMMER TRANSFER
xxx Moreover, a Pumas official said that “internal issues of the respective clubs” prevented Chino’s transfer to Liverpool.
Furthermore, Pumas president Luis Gonzalez cited “circumstances relating to internal issues of the respective clubs that monitored” Huerta as the reason for the transfer move’s downfall.
“It had nothing to do with the club or with the player’s intention, on the contrary,” Gonzalez said.
“They (Liverpool) recognized Huerta’s qualities, but for circumstances relating to internal issues of the respective clubs that monitored him, it could not be finalized,” he added.
Meanwhile, Huerta played for Mexico in its goalless draw against Canada in a friendly on Tuesday.
MEXICAN WINGER TO STILL PURSUE PREMIER LEAGUE DREAM
Furthermore, the Mexican winger will still pursue a dream of playing in the Premier League despite the missed opportunity with Liverpool.
Moreover, Huerta is not giving up the chance to elevate his game from Latin America to Europe in the future.
“I am 100% with Pumas. (But) I know sooner or later, the opportunity will come,” the footballer said.
“I’m focused on Pumas and trying to do the best for the team. I know that soon, I will get my chance,” he added.
Incidentally, Huerta still has a contract with Pumas until June 2025.
