Liverpool ready for Salah’s return
The star forward rejoined the squad’s training following a hamstring injury ahead of Thursday’s Europa League tie against Sparta Prague.
Salah’s return proved timely, as the Premiere League leaders will head to Prague for their round of 16, first-leg clash.
“Mo Salah has traveled with us. He’s trained for two days and is full of energy,” Klopp said in a news conference on Wednesday.
“We want to be careful, but this is a super intense period of the season. We want to use him. It’s just good news.”
Salah sustained a muscle injury while representing Egypt in the Africa Cup of Nations.
The 30-year-old has not played since February 17. He did join the team on the bench during Liverpool’s 4-1 win at Brentford.
“It was an unlikely situation where he had so long out, played an incredible game [versus] Brentford, and then was out, that is how it is,” Klopp said.
However, Klopp said it is up to Egypt captain Salah if he will join with his national team for a friendly against New Zealand later this month.
“That will be decided by a different department. Let’s see how long he can play now,” he said. “It’s not up to me, we’re not involved.”
Salah, Klopp might be gone next season
Meanwhile, M88 Sports reported that Salah might head to Saudi next season.
This was according to Former Tottenham star Mido on his X account.
Also, Klopp announced that he will step down as the club’s boss after their season ends.
Nonetheless, Klopp will practice extra caution on Salah when he returns.
