KOHLI’S STINT WITH SYDNEY SIXES IN BBL TURNS OUT AS AN APRIL FOOLS’ JOKE
Kohli’s stint with the Sydney Sixes in the next season of the BBL turned out to be an April fools’ joke.
Furthermore, a report from NDTV Sports initially said that a social media post from the BBL franchise on Tuesday went viral.
Moreover, the 36-year-old top order batter was signed by the Sixes for the next two BBL seasons, the social media post said as quoted by the report.
The post came as a shock to Kohli and cricket fans in general.
However, the Sixes later announced that the post was a prank to celebrate April Fools’ Day.
VIRAT AND SHARMA KEEPING THEIR A+ CONTRACT IS REAL, NOT A HOAX
A report saying that Kohli and Rohit Sharma keeping their A+ contract worth Rs 7 crore is not a hoax.
Moreover, the two veteran superstars will not change their status in their contracts based on the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) annual player contracts.
Furthermore, Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan has yet to be be confirmed in returning to their central contracts, sources with knowledge of the matter told IANS.
“Wicketkeeper batter Ishan Kishan, who was notably excluded alongside Iyer last year, still has to wait for his return in central contracts,” the source said.
This also goes true for all-rounder Axar Patel, who has a big chance to get a promotion on his BCCI central contract.
VARUN, REDDY, ABISHEK SHARMA SHARE SAME FATE
The fates of Varun Chakaravarthy, Nitish Kumar Reddy, and Abhishek Sharma are also the same as Iyer and Kishan.
Furthermore, a meeting was supposed to tackle the matter among men’s selection committee chairman Ajit Agarkar and BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia.
Moreover, the two were supposed to gather at Guwahati on Saturday but this was postponed.
Patel, Chakaravarthy, Reddy, and Sharma have been consistent the past 12 months.
Additionally, Patel played a major role in India’s T20 World Cup and Champions Trophy 2025 title wins.
