MURRAY AWARE THE END IS ALMOST NEAR

The 36-year-old former world No.1 will “probably say something” before he plays his last tournament of his career. Murray earlier hinted that he may only have a “few months” in his career after beating Denis Shopalov in his Dubai Championships opener this week.

“When the time is right, I will probably say something before I play my last match and my last tournament,” Murray said. “Whether I say anything months ahead of time I don’t know.”

Murray started 2024 by losing four matches in a row before posting his first win in Doha.

PARIS OLYMPICS STILL A TARGET FOR MURRAY

The three-time Grand Slam winner, however, remains determined to play in Paris for his final Olympic tournament. Murray won gold in the 2012 London and 2016 Rio Olympics.

“It’s been such brilliant experiences for me in London and Rio but I learned some great lessons from the Olympics in Beijing (where Murray lost in the first round),” he said.

“Hopefully, I can get the chance to compete at another one (Olympics),” Murray added.
