Nadal is eying to play in the Laver Cup in Berlin one last time this year in what could be the Spaniard’s last few tournaments before he retires.

The former world No.1 declared he will play at the Laver Cup set September 20-22 barring injury concerns.

“At this stage in my career, I really want to go out there and make the most of every opportunity I am given,” Nadal said as reported by ESPN.

The 37-year-also hinted that 2024 is his possible last playing season.

After losing to Alex de Minaur at the Barcelona Open, Nadal described the match as “probably my last match here.”

NADAL ‘HAPPY’ TO PLAY FOR TEAM EUROPE IN LAVER CUP

Nadal expressed his excitement to represent Team Europe again in the Laver Cup this year.

In the 2022 Laver Cup, Nadal teamed up with Roger Federer in doubles in London that served as the Swiss maestro’s last match before he retired.

“I have some really special memories from my Laver Cup experiences, including all the emotions from London two years ago playing alongside Roger (Federer) for the last time,” the Spaniard said.

The Laver Cup is an indoor men’s hard-court tournament that pits Team Europe against Team World in a format similar to golf’s Ryder Cup.

DJOKOVIC SKIPS MADRID OPEN TO FOCUS ON FRENCH OPEN

Meanwhile, Novak Djokovic has decided to skip the Madrid Open this week.

The world No.1 decided after he was left out of the ATP Masters 1000 tournament main draw on Monday.

Djokovic could still play at the Italian Open in Rome before the French Open next month.

The 36-year-old Serbian superstar last played at the Monte Carlo Masters earlier this month.

Djokovic lost to eventual champion Casper Ruud in the semifinals.

He has yet to win a title this season after falling short at the Australian Open in January.

Djokovic was scheduled to attend the Laureus Awards in the Spanish capital late Monday.
