What’s happening with City?

City squandered a three-goal lead to draw 3-3 with Feyenoord in the Champions League on Tuesday.

Erling Haaland’s two goals and Ilkay Gundogan’s deflected shot seemed to put City in a comfortable position to win.

However, City’s defense faltered in the final stages, a key factor in their recent collapses.

Anis Hadj Moussa, Santiago Gimenez, and David Hancko scored late goals to earn a hard-fought point.

According to Opta, no team in the Champions League had ever blown a three-goal lead as late as the 75th minute and failed to win.

Guardiola is facing the toughest run of his managerial career, with City having lost five consecutive games across all competitions.

The Spanish manager sat down at a news conference with a cut on his nose as well as some scratches across the top of his head.

When asked about the marks on his face, Guardiola explained, “Yeah, my finger. Here,” as he made a quick motion down his nose. “My nail.”

Then he added with a smile: “I want to harm myself.”

Guardiola clarifies self-harm comments

Guardiola quickly retracted his comments on X, saying he never “intended to make light of the very serious issue of self harm.”

“I was caught off guard with a question at the end of a press conference last night about a scratch which had appeared on my face and explained that a sharp fingernail had accidentally caused this,” he said.

“My answer was in no way intended to make light of the very serious issue of self harm.

“I know that many people struggle with mental health issues every day, and I would like to take this moment to highlight one of the ways in people can seek help, by calling the Samaritans hotline on 116 123 or emailing [email protected].”
