Cristiano Ronaldo revealed his retirement plans, stating Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr might be his final club before calling it a a career.

The 39-year-old joined Al Nassr in January 2023 after leaving Manchester United.

The superstar forward has been linked with a return to Sporting Lisbon, where his football career started.

However, Ronaldo insisted that he will retire with Al Nassr.

“I don’t know if I’ll finish soon or in two or three years. But, possibly, it will be at Al Nassr,” Ronaldo told Portuguese TV channel Now.

“It’s the team where I’m happy, where I’m good, where I feel good, both in the country and in the league. That’s why, most likely I can finish my career at Al Nassr.”

“I’m very happy to play in the [Saudi Pro League] and I want to continue.”

Ronaldo’s current contract with Al Nassr is due to expire next summer.

Ronaldo’s international career continues

Ronaldo confirmed that he may have played his last European Championship with Portugal after his stint in EURO 2024.

The five-time Balon d’Or amassed a world record number of caps (212) and goals (130) in men’s football.

Although the 2026 World Cup isn’t out of the picture, Ronaldo insisted there won’t be a countdown on his departure from the national team.

“I am immensely proud to represent our colours, it is a dream,” he said.

“When I leave the national team, I won’t tell anyone in advance and it will be a very spontaneous decision on my part, but also a very well thought-out one.”

“Right now, what I want is to be able to help the national team in their upcoming matches. We have the Nations League ahead of us and I would really like to play.”

No managerial plans for Ronaldo

Ronaldo started his new venture as a content creator, recently launching his own YouTube channel.

The former Real Madrid and Juventus star has about 50 million subscribers in the very first week of his channel.

Ronaldo seems to be already preparing for a life outside the pitch, but he said he doesn’t see himself going into coaching.

“At the moment, the idea of ​​being a coach of any team does not cross my mind,” he said.

“I do not see my future being that way. I see myself doing other things outside of football, but only God knows what the future holds.”
