Salah bombshell
Salah was supposed to move to the Saudi Pro League last summer.
Al-Ittihad offered the Egyptian a £150m contract, but Liverpool pulled the plug on the last day of the 2023 summer transfer window.
Still, the Saudi League remains persistent in convincing the 32-year-old to leave Liverpool, and that may happen eventually.
Mido, who also played in other Premier League clubs including Middlesbrough, Wigan, and West Ham, said that Salah has signed a deal in Saudi.
However, Mido did not disclose which team his fellow countryman signed for.
“Mohamed Salah will be in the Saudi League next season,” he wrote on X.
“Contracts have been signed.”
Meanwhile, Liverpool legend Mark Lawrenson also said the superstar striker will leave Anfield.
“100% Mo Salah will definitely leave this summer,” Lawrenson said.
“No matter what happens this season, I think there was a deal last summer.”
Salah and Klopp may leave Anfield next season
Salah’s two-year contract with Liverpool will expire next year.
Salah has netted 19 goals in 28 appearances across all competitions this season.
Liverpool won their first trophy of the season after beating Chelsea on Sunday in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley.
However, Salah missed the game due to a hamstring injury, which he sustained at the Africa Cup of Nations.
He has only played two games for the Reds this year.
Liverpool aims for a historic Quadruple by winning the Premier League, FA Cup, and Europa League.
However, the Reds could potentially lose Salah and legendary manager Jorgen Klopp next season.
Klopp announced that he will step down as the club’s boss after their season ends.
