Virat Kohli was fined 50% of his match fee for an Indian Premier League (IPL) code of conduct breach in a match on Sunday.

VIRAT KOHLI FINED FOR BREACHING IPL CODE OF CONDUCT
Kohli was fined after he breached the IPL code of conduct while playing for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) against KKR at Eden Gardens.
The RCB veteran was reportedly penalized for his reaction when he was dismissed for 18 off 7 balls in the third over of RCB’s chase of 223.
The IPL has yet to explain the reason why Kohli was fined officially.
Kohl bowled off a high full toss from Harshit Rana as he was caught having played the ball outside his crease.
He claimed the slower delivery, which seemed to be dipping on the batter, should have been called a no-ball.
However, officials ruled it as a legal delivery based on the new Hawk-Eye ball-tracking technology that determines such decisions.
KOHLI FINED AND UNHAPPY BUT TECHNOLOGY STOOD FIRM
Kohli was unhappy with the decision but the technology stood firm with its ruling.
The height of Kohli’s waist has been measured beforehand at 1.04 meters.
The ball would have passed below his waist had he been on his crease and not outside it.
This results in a legal delivery.
The technology said the ball would have passed the batter at 0.92 meters from the ground if Kohli was upright at the crease.
DU PLESSIS ACCEPTS DECISION DESPITE KOHLI FINE
RCB captain Faf du Plessis reluctantly accepted the technology’s decision despite the fine slapped on his veteran teammate Kohli.
“Virat and myself at that stage thought that possibly the ball was higher than his waist. I guess they measure it on the popping crease,” du Plessis said.
“Obviously, the rules are the rules. But that’s just how the game works,” he added.
RCB lost the match, allowing KKR to win by one run resulting in the latter falling at the bottom of the IPL points table.
RCB dropped to just one victory in eight games.
