Kohli wants the IPL trophy
The men’s RCB squad has yet to win an IPL championship since its inception in 2008.
RCB is one of four franchises that have not won an IPL title.
Kohli, the former team captain, only came close in 2011 and 2016 as runners-up.
The 36-year-old Kohli said he will rely on his skillsets and experience to claim his first-ever IPL trophy.
“That’s a dream of mine to know what it feels like winning an IPL trophy. I will be here, be a part of the team that wins the trophy for the first time,” said Kohli.
“I will try my very best with my abilities and my experience to be able to do that for the fans and the franchise.”
Kohli, currently the highest run-getter in the IPL, stepped away from the game in January to watch the birth of his son Akaay.
Now that he is back, Kohli assured that his commitment and passion with RCB will never change, and he hopes to win it all for the fans.
“It is because of the way we play our cricket, our commitment, and the passion that we saw over the years that we have such a fanbase.
“So, that’s not going to change. And that’s my promise every year to the fans, to the team, and everyone involved,” he added.
The 2024 IPL edition will kick off on March 22.
