ZVEREV DESCRIBES SINNER SITUATION AS ‘WEIRD’ AND ‘STRANGE,’ QUESTIONS BAN LENGTH

Zverev describes the Sinner situation as “weird” and “strange,” even as he also questioned the length of the ban.

Furthermore, the German world No.2 noted the contrasting fates that happened to Sinner, who agreed to a three-month ban to end a lingering doping controversy.

Moreover, Zverev insisted that the length of the ban Sinner had agreed with the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) is not a suspension.

“It’s a weird situation because it’s been obviously a very long process where first he is cleared,” the German said.

“To me, I think, you know, there’s two options. Either you’re at no fault and you should get no suspension at all,” he added.

GERMAN FELT SINNER NEED NOT BE SUSPENDED ‘IF IT’S NOT HIS FAULT’

The German felt Sinner shuld not be punished “if it’s not his fault.”

Moreover, Zverev just find the whole process that led to the Italian world No.1’s ban as “strange.”

Furthermore, Sinner told WADA that he had “partial responsibility” for his team’s mistakes.

“Because if you have no fault, then you have no fault. You shouldn’t get punished,” Zverev said.

“But if you do have fault, then I think for taking steroids, three months is not a suspension,” he added.

DJOKOVIC SLAMS WADA FOR SETTLEMENT WITH SINNER, LEGAL TEAM

Djokovic slammed WADA after a settlement was reached between the agency and Sinner’s legal team.

Furthermore, the Serbian former world No.1 disclosed that he has consulted several players following Sinner’s ban.

Moreover, Djokovic called on WADA and the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) to change the doping cases’ process.

“Right now there is a lack of trust generally from the tennis players, both male and female, toward WADA and ITIA and the whole process,” Djokovic, in Doha for the Qatar Open, said.

“Right now it’s a ripe time for us to really address the system, because the system and the structure obviously doesn’t work, it’s obvious,” he added.
