UNITED SEES NO RASHFORD OFFERS THIS SUMMER TRANSFER WINDOW
United sees no Rashford offers would be coming to them this summer transfer window due to the club’s high transfer fee demands, according to a source.
The Premier League side is convinced no team can afford United’s fee demands and match Rashford’s wage request, the source told ESPN.
United may only consider offers north of £70 million ($87.8 million) for Rashford if the club receives them.
However, the club clarified that management is not actively looking to offload Rashford.
Rashford earlier said that he is not keen to leave United.
PSG MAY MEET UNITED DEMANDS BUT MBAPPE REPLACEMENT NOT A PRIORITY
Only Paris Saint Germain (PSG) has the resources to meet United’s fee demands and consider Rashford’s salary request.
But the Ligue One club said that Rashford is not a priority on its list to replace departing star Kylian Mbappe this summer, the source said.
Mbappe is expected to join Real Madrid at the end of the season.
Rashford struggled with just eight goals in all competitions this season.
United would resist attempts to prise him away for a cut-price fee and the club would only consider reasonable bids, the source said.
RASHFORD RELEASE COULD HELP UNITED STAY WITHIN PSR
On one side, United could benefit from Rashford’s departure as the c;lub would stay within the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules (PSR).
As an academy graduate, a Rashford fee means pure profit on the books.
United has the money to spend in the summer transfer market but the club’s finances remain “tight,” a source said.
Meanwhile, Mason Greenwood, another academy graduate, is expected by United to leave this summer.
The 22-year-old may find a permanent deal but his Spanish team may not be able to fund a permanent transfer.
Greenwood, who is on loan at Getafe this season, has scored 10 goals.
However, United is looking for between £30 million and £40 million.
United will not accept a major reduced fee for Greenwood.
