The ACT Meteors have announced their squad for the upcoming 2023/2024 Women’s National Cricket League season. The team will be led once again by experienced opening batter Katie Mack. The squad has expanded to 16 players as per the new Memorandum of Understanding between Cricket Australia and the Australian Cricketers’ Association.
Former Captain and Australian Under-19s coach Erin Osborne will take over as the new Head Coach, while Jono Dean will switch to the ACT Comets as Head Coach of the returning National 2nd XI side. The team has some new additions including local wicketkeeper-bat Grace Lyons and former Bangladesh international off-spinner Jannatul Sumona. Grace Dignam, the leading run-scorer in Sydney 1st Grade last summer, and 17-year-old fast bowler Amy Hunter will also be joining the team. Additionally, explosive Victorian top-order bat and wicketkeeper Paris Bowdler will be part of the squad.
Former Meteors allrounder Zoe Cooke will depart from the Meteors program after choosing to join Queensland. Cricket ACT wishes her the very best for her future success. The Meteors young squad continues to develop depth in line with Cricket ACT’s strengthening elite pathways.
