The Saudi Football Federation (SAFF) officially gave Cristiano Ronaldo a one-game ban for his obscene gesture.

Saudi does not spare Ronaldo
The federation’s Disciplinary and Ethics Committee also said the Al Nassr superstar would have to pay a fine of 10,000 Saudi riyals ($2,666) to SAFF.
Ronaldo will also have to pay an additional 20,000 riyals to Al Shabab, covering the costs of the complaint filing fees.
The committee’s decision is not subject to appeal.
The ban came after Ronaldo seemingly made an obscene gesture following the Al Nassr’s 3-2 win over Al Shabab.
After the final whistle, the Portuguese forward was spotted making an obscene hand gesture towards his groin area.
The X-rated gesture was Ronaldo’s response to Al Shabab’s home crowd, who kept chanting “Messi” in the background.
The chant referenced Ronaldo’s longstanding football rivalry with Argentine star Lionel Messi.
Ronaldo quickly justified his actions, saying, “I respect all clubs.”
“And the joy after the shot expresses strength and victory, and it is not shameful. We are used to it in Europe.”
Ronaldo also faced similar criticisms regarding his questionable gesture.
Back in April 2023, he grabbed his crotch on his way to the dugout after Al Nassr’s 2-0 loss to Al Hilal.
Ronaldo, who took his talents in the Saudi League in December 2022, has played a key role for Al-Nassr this season.
The 39-year-old has 34 goals in 35 appearances across all competitions.
