Marcus Rashford’s absence in Manchester United’s last match is something the team will address, according to manager Erik ten Hag.
The Dutch manager refused to elaborate on what sanctions United can impose on Rashford. Due to illness, the 26-year-old forward missed the club’s 4-2 win at Newport on Sunday.
Reports cited Rashford as seen at a nightclub in Belfast on Thursday evening before reporting ill for Friday’s training. Ten Hag assured that United would address the situation at the proper time.
“He was ill. The rest is an internal matter,” the 53-year-old manager said of his English forward’s absence. “I deal with it, we will deal with it.”

Rashford’s absence at the fourth round FA Cup match in south Wales is not new with United. The 5-foot-11 Manchester native also missed a Premier League match against Wolves last season when he reportedly overslept.
Ten Hag defended Rashford when the forward went out clubbing following United’s 0-3 loss to Manchester City in October. The manager described Rashford as “very motivated.”
“He (Rashford) has made a mistake, but that doesn’t say he’s not fitting in,” the Dutchman said. “I see him every day in training, what he’s doing, I know.”
